How do we book our hotel reservation?
To book online, please visit destinationweddings.com/AnnaGerald
Click the box "Attending a Wedding." The wedding passcode is: mexico2018
Once on our page, you can decide on your trip duration and choose a room type to book your own custom resort package. Your room request will be submitted directly to our wedding specialist, Debbie Frey. She is helping to coordinate our guests' travel and room requests and she's available to answer any questions you might have. You can reach out to Debbie at: DFrey@destinationweddings.com.
After you submit your room request, there will be a payment authorization form. This form allows you to confirm your booking with just $100 per room (not per person). Destinationweddings.com offers an interest-free payment plan for the remaining portion. You are free to set up payments or you can simply pay the balance on or before 03/24/18.
Why should we book through Debbie/Destinationweddings.com? Does it cost us anything?
Debbie is our travel consultant and she will assist you with booking your hotel room and even arranging travel insurance and transportation before and during your travels. She is here to make sure your trip is stress free. It does not cost you anything! Her email is DFrey@destinationweddings.com and phone is 419-472-5665
Please note that Debbie is managing many guests and weddings simultaneously, so please be patient and follow up with her. You can always get in touch with us (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions or concerns.
How many days should we come for?
We suggest everyone come for as many nights as they can to enjoy the beauty of the beach and Mexico! The hotel has a 3-night minimum stay recommendation and the majority of guests will likely come for 3-4 nights. If you would like to stay less than three nights at the resort, please reach out directly to Debbie Frey. She can contact the resort and submit an exception request for a shorter stay. Please join us for a welcome party at 6pm on Friday at JoJo's Deck, El Dorado Royale. Anybody who would like get together for breakfast on July 1st, please join us on Sunday morning at 10:30am at Chef Market Grand Cafe & Deck, Generations.
Can we bring our kids?
El Dorado Royale and El Dorado Casitas are adults-only resorts. The neighboring property Generations is family friendly. The wedding and reception will be hosted in family friendly locations. Children under 18 will not be able to come on to the El Dorado properties.
Do we have to stay at El Dorado or Generations resorts?
In a short answer - no. However, please know that we have spent a lot of time researching options for hotel stays and we believe that we have made the best choice for our wedding and the majority of our guests. DestinationWeddings.com offers an interest-free payment plan to help ease the cost of the event.
Please note, if you choose to stay at another property there is a day pass fee to gain access to the resort. The day pass will allow you full access to the resort's amenities as well as food and drink.
Guests at El Dorado or Generations will enjoy unlimited food and drinks, minibar stocked daily, 24-hour room service, full service concierge, gym, non-motorized water sports including kayaks, snorkeling, and pedal boats, 12 pools including a saltwater pool and a lazy river, tennis courts, nightly shows and karaoke, free international calls, shopping tours in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen and all taxes and gratuities are included. You will also receive a $250 resort credit per room for additional items you might like to try such as excursions or spa treatments.
What is the dress code?
The wedding ceremony will be in a sandy area close to the beach. Please dress in beach formal attire. Ladies, feel free to wear heels. Sandals will be provided for you to walk on the sand if needed. The reception will be on an open air Sky Deck at Generations, which is fully tiled.
Please be aware that some restaurants on the resort have a dress code.
What should we bring?
Our welcome party and reception will be on a patio area and the wedding ceremony will be in an area right off the beach. Bring whatever clothing and footwear you feel most comfortable in! Bring lots of sunblock, swimwear and sandals. Pack insect repellant too, just in case. If you forget anything, there is a gift shop on the property where you can buy anything you might need.
There is unlimited food and drinks at the resort (including a stocked minibar) and there is bottled water available everywhere at all times.
The beauty of an all-inclusive resort is that you shouldn't need any money once you arrive unless you choose to make purchases from the gift shops or for tipping (gratuities are included, so never feel pressured). Also, most places in Playa Del Carmen will take dollars, but generally you will do better with the exchange rate to change some dollars to pesos prior to your arrival. You can do this at your departing airport or upon arrival in Cancun.
Remember to check with your cell carrier prior to departing for Mexico to make sure you know the roaming rates. You can purchase a roaming plan very inexpensively or you can turn off cellular data and turn off any apps that will roam while you are in Mexico. This can save you a lot of surprise charges later.
We took a family trip to Playa del Carmen in 2017 and fell in love with the locale. After not having much luck finding the perfect place, we decided to check out one last property before flying out of town. After seeing the property in person, we thought that it would be perfect for us and for you.
Since we both have friends and family all over the country, we wanted to choose a place to bring everyone together for a new and shared experience. Also, we think you deserve a vacation! We are very much looking forward to relaxing with you and making some great memories in Playa Del Carmen! We feel honored to invite you to celebrate with us and we are so grateful to have you in our lives.
